The Reds boss has been impressed with the way his players have responded to the challenge of facing higher-level opposition in friendlies, and he believes they are starting to gel as a team.

Parkinson has also been pleased with the impact of his new signings, with the likes of Jordan Tunnicliffe, Elliot Lee and Paul Mullin all impressing in pre-season.

However, the Reds boss is still looking to add to his squad before the start of the new season, with a striker and a goalkeeper high on his list of priorities.

Wrexham kick-off their National League campaign on Saturday 6th August at home to Maidenhead United.

It promises to be a tough test for Parkinson's men, but they will be confident of making a positive start to the season.

The Reds have a number of pre-season friendlies lined up before the start of the new campaign, including a trip to face Premier League side Burnley on July 23rd.
