Acquired JJ Redick and traded player exception to New Orleans Pelicans for Justin Jackson, 2023 2nd round draft pick, Maxwell Lewis, and 2026 2nd round draft pick
The Dallas Mavericks made a move to bolster their shooting by acquiring veteran guard JJ Redick from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Justin Jackson, a 2023 2nd round draft pick, Maxwell Lewis, and a 2026 2nd round draft pick.
Redick is a career 44.9% shooter from three-point range and will provide the Mavericks with a much-needed outside threat. He is also a veteran leader who can help mentor the young players on the team.
The Mavericks gave up some depth in Jackson and Lewis, but they believe that Redick will be a valuable addition to their team. He will help them spread the floor and create more scoring opportunities for their stars.
